Port Charlotte PC8 Ar Duthchas Single Malt Whisky
What fashions a man's character? His family, his upbringing, his life experience? Certainly these, but here on the remote rhinns of Islay we are constantly reminded of the heritage of our forefathers - The evidence of their culture and beliefs, their endurance and skills still shine through clearly to those who care to look more closely.
What mark can we leave that will bear testament to this land and those generations that have gone before? We haver chosen ou spirit, it's what we know, as did they - It's the medium that connects and sustains us and we give thanks that we are part of a lineage that is unbowed by time and tribulation. No man could wish for more - AR DUTHCHAS
Now the fourth and final release of our very first Port Charlotte distillation, distilled at the Bruichladdich Distillery in 2001. From the same original vintage stocks, this time bottled in 2009, the whisky is now Eight years of age. Now the natural cask strength has fallen to 60.5%, the spirit becoming more compelling and complex all the time. Follow the extraordinary evolution of this heavily peated spirit's fascinating development by comparing and contrasting this bottle with the earlier PC5, PC6 and PC7.
There are once again SIX tin designs, celebrating the lives and culture of our forefathers and the evidence successive generations have left of their presence on this very special, isolated Western Islay peninsula.
In it's young life Port Charlotte has become the cult islay whisky, PC5, PC5.5 and PC6 rated at 95, 96 and 96.5 by Jim Murray in his Whisky Bible
