Linkwood 1981 26 Year Old Sweet Red Wine Cask Scotch Whisky
Although this is a 26 year old, it was originally in ex-refill American Oak casks before being transferred to Sweet Red Wine Casks.
It's one of three Linkwood Malts from the distillers, identically aged for 12 years then matured fourteen more, each now in a different cask-wood to delicately enhance its distillery character
After the second maturation in Sweet Red Wine casks, this unusually fruity natural cask strength malt should appeal to brandy lovers. The nose is soft and cream, revealing sweet red fruits. Light bobdied, briefly sweet, then a pleasing red berry sharpness and a smooth fruit and nut finish.
Distilled in 1981 and Bottled in 2008.
