Linkwood 1981 26 Year Old Port Cask Scotch Whisky
Although this is a 26 year old, it was originally in ex-refill American Oak casks before being transferred to Port Casks.
It's one of three Linkwood Malts from the distillers, identically aged for 12 years then matured fourteen more, each now in a different cask-wood to delicately enhance its distillery character
After the second maturation in Port Casks, this natural cask-strength malt is sweet, complex and highly unusual. Most enjoyable, it has a mellow and fruity nose. balanced by a tannic dryness. Light bodied and drying, yet rich in fruit-sweet flavours, with a late, PEPPERY Sweetness on the finish
Distilled in 1981 and Bottled in 2008.
A limited bottling of only 1260.
