Highland Park 1968 Orcadian Vintage Malt Whisky
The Orcadian Vintage's debut is beautifully presented in a bespoke, bell-bottomed, jet black glass bottle – reminiscent of a decanter – featuring embossed Pictish knot work detailing and the distinct pewter H amulette.
The bottle sits within a hand-crafted oak box, enhanced with ornate Viking-inspired marquetry and inlaid with the pewter H amulette.
A detailed booklet featuring explanatory notes about the Vintages range, from rationale to taste, is included.
The second of the Orcadian Vintage series, 1968 Vintage released in November 2009.
Eight refill hogshead casks yielded 1,550 70cl bottles at a natural strength of 45.6% abv, each carefully chosen by Max McFarlane, Highland Park Whisky Maker.
With its naturally golden hue, full-bodied flavour with hints of honey and lemongrass, the Orcadian 1968 Vintage is an exceptionally fine whisky that builds on the peerless reputation of Highland Park.

Tasting Notes
Appearance / A delightfully rich, naturally golden hue with remarkable clarity and brightness.
Nose / Reminiscent of thick, opaque honey but with attractive notes of lemongrass, sandalwood and a variety of aromatic spices.
Palate / Delicious complexity; the citrus evident on the nose develops into dried orange peel. The aromatic spices are revealed as ginger, cloves and camphor.
Finish / A lasting impression of rich spiciness is the legacy of a single malt that is extremely long and surprisingly sweet
